Publishing a track to Kycker is a similar process to uploading a song for distribution (releasing to Spotify etc). You can submit your songs in the publishing section of Kycker, which is just under distribution. In this section you will see 4 different categories where you can input data for your songs, your setlists, your gigs and your broadcasts.
If you have released tracks through Kycker, you can choose these for publishing by selecting Add a track and then selecting “Would you like to use a previously released track?” This will pull through information from the release including the track length and writers.
- The writers splits will automatically calculate to 100% unless there are 3 writers, and this will show as 33% each and will need to be corrected to make 100% as all of the writers splits can be edited.
- If you have tracks in a live set not released at all or not released by Kycker, please select Add. The information required is Track Name, Track Length, Track Writers, Track Writer Splits as a percentage of 100%.
- Once tracks have been registered, they will be allocated a Tunecode from PRS. This can take up to three days (but is usually quicker). If you are a PRS member and have added your CAE number, the tracks will appear on your PRS account.
- Once your tracks have tunecodes, please create a setlist that you perform live. You can create multiple setlists of different lengths. Please do not include cover versions.
You can then start to submit gig claims using the option “Create” on Your Gig Claims section.
These can be manual but we recommend that you have a Songkick account and add your shows here as this will also populate your Spotify account (you will need to connect your Songkick on Spotify for Artists).
The create claim option allows you to choose manual or Songkick. Annual will allow you to add postcodes and search for venues. If the venue does not show, you can add this and attach a setlist from the ones you have created.
To claim live shows using Songkick means claims will auto generate and all you need to do is attach your setlist.
