What is Content ID?

Content ID is a tool developed by YouTube that helps copyright owners manage and protect their content. When you upload a video, YouTube checks if it matches any existing copyrighted material (like music, videos, etc.). If a match is found, the owner can choose to block, monetize, or track the video. It’s basically an automated copyright detection system!

I don't want my track to have Content ID

While we recommend having Content ID on your tracks as it catches any copyright and monetization, there can be reasons why you would want to turn it off such as:

• You have bought Leased Beats which have been scanned for Content ID
• Free fan content creation
• Avoiding monetization disputes (i.e. if the track is licensed to multiple parties)
