You earn different amounts from plays in different regions of the world. With Spotify there is a different rate if the play was from a premium member or a free, ad supported member.
On YouTube you receive a higher rate for YouTube music, but sometimes the ad supported YouTube (especially in world regions) is so low we can't fit the zero's on the statement line.
Plays from different regions may be significantly lower than you expect. All plays are listed in your statement with a value per stream, letting you see exactly what each region and account pays you. We are completely transparent on everything you earn.
The chart below is a best case scenario, based on US streaming rates in July 2023. You won't achieve these on average, more likely you may find you average around $0.0025 or £0.002 per stream.
| Streaming Service | Money Generated Per Stream | Streams Required To Make $1 |
| Spotify | $0.00318 | 314 |
| Apple Music | $0.008 | 125 |
| Amazon Music | $0.00402 | 249 |
| Youtube Music | $0.002 | 500 |
| Tidal | $0.01284 | 78 |
| Deezer | $0.0011 | 909 |
| Pandora | $0.00133 | 752 |
If you have paid for promotion of your music, you may have accidentally ended up on botted playlists.
Streaming services DO NOT pay for these streams as they are constantly checking and banning accounts. This is done without notification, so the only way you would find out is if streams are not accounted for.
If you have ended up on a paid playlist or through a paid service you have had a quick and significant boost in your streams, it is highly likely that these streams are from very low value accounts. Potentially these pay one tenth the value you would normally expect from a stream.
